I went to Hawaii as part of a family vacation in February 2009. When we went to Pearl Harbor we drove by Aloha Stadium. It was in football configuration and I could see that the seats in the upper deck looked similar to the Padres "walking tacos" uniforms of the 70's and 80's. To me it looked like that the renovations that were approved by the state of Hawaii in 2008 hadn't begun yet so it still looked run down.

I was at the first game at the stadium. It was a beautiful park at the time, better than at least half of the MLB parks. Fans were allowed on the field BEFORE the game to talk to the players. You just had to stay in foul territory. Joe Pepitone played there, hit 1 homer, I saw it. The stadium was constantly used. All the high schools used it.
