Love the view. Tons better then windy Candlestick. Clunky right field wall gives it lots of character. Love the garlic fries! Love the rare HR into McCovey Cove. Free RF views through the arches to passerby. I love to take the ferry from Oakland's Jack London Square and walk into the stadium.

I thought that there was a rule in baseball that the right and left field foul lines had to be at least a certain distance and no less. Although I don't remember the distance, I believe that the 309' down the right field line at AT&T Park is well below that limit. If this is correct, then I wonder how the Giants got approval to build the park with a dimension below league standards? Please note that Charley Finley tried to reduce the distance of the right field line at Municipal Stadium in Kansas City year's ago, but the league wouldn't let him. He then constructed what he called "The Penant Porch," in which the right field foul line ran 330'to comply with league rules, but then quickly veered toward home plate where it was only 297' from home plate, but again, the league made him take down the porch, so, again, I was wondering how the Giants got away with this, but Charley Finley couldn't? Any help on answering this question would be greatly appreciated. Jack

This ballpark has to be seen to be believed. It's been a treat for me each and every time I've attended a ballgame (and a soccer game - U.S. vs. Japan) here. Come early to visit the Willie McCovey statue and little league park on the south side of China Basin (McCovey Cove) and Lefty O'Doul Bridge and to walk the promenade that takes you all the way 'round the park. The fans here are the most passionate I've experienced and the park is easy to reach via ferry from the East Bay or public transit from the city. (Don't drive, as parking is upwards of $20 per vehicle.)

I have gone to AT&T Park many times, i have seen the Giants face The A's (twice), The Phillies, and The Dodgers. Even though everytime the Giants lost, it was always fun (Im an A's and Cubs fan) great garlic fries, the awkward 309 ft wall, the sweet scoreboard, oh, and chanting "BEAT LA" was fun too, i love AT&T Park it is the best ballpark i have been too.

The best stadium ever. I went to San Francisoco in Pac Bell's inaugural year with my wife and kids. I could only get a single ticket so I went to a Sunday afternoon game while my wife to the "young-ins" to a museum. I bought a sweatshirt in anticipation of an icy wind off the bay, but it was warm and sunny in my upper deck seat. The next day, a Monday, my whole family took a tour of the place. The ballpark still provides entertainment for kids during an off-day. Giant employees were on duty to hand out burlap bags to my daughters so they could enjoy the sliding boards inside the Coke bottle. What a place! The next time I visited was on the first day of summer. I traveled to see my Orioles first game ever against the Giants' franchise. It was windy, cold and rainy. An usher adroitly identified me as a tourist as I walked up the ramp sheilding myself from the elements. "Welcome to the first day of summer", he said, "in San Francisco".

Uhm. The enjoyment of this stadium seems to depend entirely on where you sit. If you actually want to WATCH the game, sit in the upper deck, or high up in the first level. Seriously. The lower deck has such a low grade that anyone's head can create an obstructed view. ESPECIALLY down the line. We had to move back 20 rows just to be able to see the game without having to hope the people in front of us didn't move. Did the architect have this in mind when designing? (Also, our experience was rather bad, since we were sitting near a group that was just about ready to erupt into a drunken fight all game.) Seriously folks, sit in the upper deck. You see the game, the whole field, the bay, and the Bay Bridge with no worries. (I can't guarantee the no drunken fan fights, though!)

I've been to AT&T several times, two games last season, and one this season, and the Giants lost all three! Tomorrow I'll be there to see them play the Nationals. It's the best park, hands down. I'll see Wrigley June 30, when the Giants visit there. Last summer saw the Red Sox play the Dodgers at Fenway. Regarding AT&T for football use, it's similar to Wrigley Field when the Bears played there, but a bit more room so as not to have a slice of the end zone cut off. Cal is playing home games there this coming fall, as Memorial Stadium is retrofitted. The bleachers in right field are going to be about 1/3 bigger than those used for the Emerald Bowl, and teams will be on opposite sides, with Cal on the Giants' dug out side. So AT&T's capacity for football will be a few thousand more fans, close to 45,000. One home game is going to be played at Candlestick. I would rather the 49ers play there in the future than practice legalized theft of the City of Santa Clara. In order to get the 50,000 minimum, double deck part of the left field bleachers, to the city-side of the coke bottle and mitt. The view of the Bay and Bay Bridge would still be there.

I've been to 18 MLB stadiums, and AT&T blew everything else out of the water. The fantastic water view, amenities and food are all well documented, but what surprised me was the atmosphere - a weekday night in the middle of the summer, and the stadium was packed and loud. As a Yankee fan, the fans at most other stadiums tend to be disappointing to me, but AT&T exceeded all my expectations. It's a must-visit!

Grew up in the Bay Area attending Giants games at the Stick. Finally got to AT&T and was greatly disappointed after 10 years of hype that portrayed this as one the best ballparks in America. Great setting that looks good on TV and in pictures, but lower deck seating has poor sight lines that are easily blocked by parade of people allowed to freely tramp up and down the aisles during play. Concourses are tiny and make a visit to the concessions or rest rooms a multi-inning effort. In my opinion, fan experience doesn't come close to what PETCO in S.D. has to offer. Guess Candlestick set the bar so low that anything was an improvement.

I am a retired SFPD officer. I have been to the park on many many occasions. When the park first opened, I was still on the job. I was able to enter the park before it was opened to the public. My very first impression was that it took me back to my childhood when I lived in Pittsburgh Pa and attended many games at Forbes Field. As I walked along the main concourse, I was taken in by all the dark green painted steel beams and it immediately propelled me back in time to a place all but forgotten now. I was fortunate to be able to tour around the park and get onto the field for a view most fans don't get to see. It was pretty amazing. The only reason this park does not get a 9 in rating is because I have been to other modern parks like Coor's Field that have slightly better fan accouterments. But that being said, it's a very very nice place to see a ball game and I highly recommend it.
